The staff exceeded my expectations, always a smile, allowed us to stay in the dining room after closing as we met family. They served us in the living rooms/parlors. Food and bar service was excellent. reception assisted us with cab service and alerted us when the cabs arrived. We were delighted to learn our room was ready upon our arrival at 2 pm, especially since we had a family reunion to attend 30 miles away. The shower / tub had safety/ grip bars. towels were plentiful. Excellent hotel.

The Avalon is my first choice of hotel when visiting my family in Kilkenny. The rooms are really comfortable and tastefully decorated, the inclusion of a coffee machine is very welcome. The hotel has a very homely atmosphere and the staff are wonderful, so kind and friendly. I would really recommend breakfast, a good selection of local produce really well cooked and served.
