Set in Ghent and with Sint-Pietersstation Gent reachable within 5.3 km, Comic Art Hotel offers a terrace, non-smoking rooms, free WiFi throughout the property and a bar. This is by far the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The room was beyond anything I had imagined. It was spacious, clean, the bathtub was huge, the bathroom products smelled heavenly. The artwork was amazing. The hotel is walking distance to the city center and the July summer festival. The aircon was perfect and easy to customise. The staff were super friendly and helpful. A big thank you to Lena, Doreen, Danté, Orlande and the entire team. Bravo! 10 out of 10 in every category.

Boutique hotel 1898 The Post offers accommodation in an iconic, historical building in the heart of Ghent. It is situated in the former post office. I visited Ghent from 7–9 September and asked ChatGPT to recommend a hotel that would: (a) be right in the city centre and easy to navigate from to visit all the main sights; (b) be reputed for its hospitality, comfort, and service; and (c) help create a truly beautiful memory of my stay. It recommended 1898 The Post—and the choice couldn’t have been better. The hotel is housed in a grand historic building, formerly the Post Office, right in the heart of the city. The Lys River and the Graslei and Korenlei quays (lined with eateries) are directly behind the hotel. In front are the St Nicholas Church, St Bavo’s Cathedral, the Town Hall, and the Belfry—all just a short stroll away. To the left, a lively street is filled with restaurants and cafés. There’s also a taxi stand conveniently located at the riverside entrance. My room was spacious, with a big comfortable bed, a large window overlooking the street, and a loft-style bathroom. (Tip: travellers who find stairs difficult should request a room with bedroom and bathroom on the same level.) I was delighted to find a handwritten welcome card and a small box of pralines waiting for me when I checked in—such a thoughtful touch. Breakfast was served in a beautiful, cosy room, with a spread that was both generous and delicious. The staff throughout were warm, friendly, and attentive, ensuring that my stay was as comfortable as possible. I especially appreciated their care before I even arrived: shortly after my booking, they emailed to ask if I needed any special arrangements, and later followed up to alert me that I was arriving on Car-Free Sunday, providing helpful directions so my driver could drop me close to the hotel. I truly couldn’t have asked for more. Staying at 1898 The Post created a very special memory of my visit to Ghent, and I would certainly choose the same hotel again on a future visit.

This luxurious family-run hotel in the Patershol District of Ghent offers rooms in 2 historic buildings and benefits from a free heated swimming pool. We had an excellent room with canal view and the location is great. Staff is very nice and we particularly enjoyed the smiling face that met us both mornings at breakfast.

Located in Wetteren, 18 km from Sint-Pietersstation Gent, Burgemeestershof provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. Very nicely decorated and the owners were very helpful, immediately attending to some technical issues we had with the room. Breakfast has everything you need and we are dog lovers so didn’t mind the three four-legged friends at all.
