Located on the Ile d’Oleron, the Hotel Île De Lumière offers direct access to the beach. It has an outdoor swimming pool, a tennis court and many other facilities. The location is picture perfect, literally. It is on the western coast of the island, so if there is a sunset, you would see it. On our days, it was rainy, but that simply brought a different kind of beauty. The beaches were mostly empty - we had them to ourselves. There are several ways to get to the beach below, and all are an easy, short walk. Yet, the hotel is elevated, so you have a lovely view of the coastline. The room was light and airy, and very clean. There is plenty of storage space, and a nice shower with plenty of pressure. The bed was very comfortable, and there were room darkening curtains. The hotel was full when we were there, but it was still quiet. Breakfast is not included, but we found it to be worth the price. There was a lot of variety in the pastries offered, along with cheese, meat, boiled eggs, cereal, and fruit. We would recommend this place, and would stay again.

Nestled in the heart of La Rochelle and set in an 18th-century building, Maison des Ambassadeurs is just a 5-minute walk from the Old Harbour and offers a 24-hour front desk as well as a concierge... Raphael greeted us by attending to our car. He later gave us many tips and places to see and to eat. He was so very nice. Tiffany treated us to an upgrade which was so very kind of her. We were greeted with her friendly smile and warm welcoming followed with a glass of champagne. Such a pleasant entrance to our stay! The room was absolutely gorgeous. An entire area dedicated to coffee, hot chocolate, and a fridge with drinks, etc. The main room had a table, sofa, chairs, end table - all was comfortable and spacious. The bedroom was large! A king bed (super comfortable), end tables, a huge closet with robes and slippers. The bathroom off the room was also large! Nice lighting, mirrors, sink and wonderful shower.

Situated in the lively Saint Nicolas district in La Rochelle, this hotel is surrounded by antique dealers, bars and cafés. It offers free Wi-Fi and a conservatory with large sofas and tropical plants.... The hotel is so beautifully appointed and convenient. It was understated elegance. Very clean, very environment minded.

Set in Saint-Georges-dʼOléron, 6.7 km from Fort Boyard, Hôtel Bar Restaurant La Marie Galante offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. Lovely clean room and friendly staff. They were very welcoming and kind. Good breakfast. Perfect place for a lone traveller to explore the area.

Offering a garden and city view, Le Lodge Park à La Rochelle is located in La Rochelle, 2.7 km from Concurrence Beach and 1.8 km from La Rochelle Train Station. Lovely apartment at the back of the building so you don’t hear the road at the front. Everything you need for a great stay, plus a balcony so you can sit out. Easy flat walk into the city centre in about 20 minutes. Free on street parking at the front of the building which was a bonus. Alain is a super host and his English is brilliant, we’ll definitely stay there again when we go to La Rochelle.

Offering a garden and garden view, Naphéo is set in Tonnay-Charente, 41 km from Saintes Train Station and 42 km from La Rochelle Train Station. Very comfortable and quiet. Lovely part of the country. Very remote but 10 minutes from shopping centre.

Located in La Cotinière, the recently renovated Clos des Aigrettes -6 Gîtes de charme et confort à 30m du Port de La Cotinière provides accommodation less than 1 km from Plage de Matha and 13 km from... The location was fantastic. We could walk out of the property, and the sea and shops were just around the corner. We had a top floor gite , which was self contained, with our own private balcony. It was more than what we expected. We wished we could have stayed longer. The cycling routes around the island are great. We will definitely come back and stay at the same accommodation. Great experience. Thanks again.

Set in Saint-Coutant-le-Grand, 41 km from Saintes Train Station, Le Logis du Péré offers accommodation with free bikes, free private parking, a seasonal outdoor swimming pool and a garden. The property was first class in every way - room is amazing, food exceptional and service hit exactly the right note. The owner does not speak English but with effort from both sides we communicated. You can also use a translator:-). We enjoyed our first visit very much!

Domaine de Rennebourg is set in Saint Denis Du Pin and has a pool with a view and garden views. Boasting a shared kitchen, this property also provides guests with a picnic area. What an experience - we arrived quite late and were bit worried since made the last minute reservation. But it was all more than perfect! The whole garden for dogs to run around, us to relax also. Incredible details all around the property and most welcomig Madame of the house. Breakfast was delicious, with home made jam, cheese, fresh coffee, baguette etc. Just loved the place!
