Auchendennan FarmSelf Catering Cottages offers a beautiful setting in Arden, a short walk from the shores of Loch Lomond and only 2 miles from Balloch. The view into the garden and the small terrace were really nice. Very comfortable and spacious. Located in a quiet environment and a "base camp" for exploring Loch Lomond and the surrounding region. Well suited for longer stays. Very friendly staff and easy check-in and check-out.

We had a great stay -- the hotel is rather unique in that it's actually several townhouses that are connected and then redone as rooms. Our room was delightfully decorated fitting of the boutique hotel status, with a huge bathroom and large, comfortable bed. The hotel staff were communicative and helpful, both before our stay, messaging over booking.com, at reception, and while there. We were celebrating a special occasion, and had a nice surprise welcoming us in the room, which we appreciated. We also ordered room service from the restaurant (always a nice treat at hotels that offer it) and this hit the spot -- there was good variety, the food was high quality, and the ambiance and experience quickly made us feel at home. Lastly, it was our first time in Glasgow and as travelers without a car, we weren't quite sure where to stay. This spot worked out quite well -- the area is nice, and the university area (around Byres road), with more shops and cafes and such, is just a 10 minute walk, or a shorter bus ride. The bus stop is also right outside and very convenient, and that or the train provide quick transit access through the city. Overall, this worked out very well for us -- we had comfortable accommodations, tasty food, and great service. Would recommend to others.

We were given a really friendly welcome and helpful recommendations for nearby pubs, and the location of the room was special, surrounded by a beautiful garden with lovely flowers. The room was immaculate and extremely comfortable and quiet, with a great bed. The shower was excellent with really nice toiletries provided. We had a great stay at Rosemount and would definitely go there again!

Everything was splendid. The tranquil countryside scenery, the kind and warm-hearted owners, the room's design and spaciousness, the comfort of the bed, the cleanliness, and the freshly cooked, warm breakfast – all were excellent. It's just under an hour's drive from Glasgow. Located in the middle of a sheep farm, about ten minutes' drive from Lanark town centre, it's in a very peaceful setting. It also serves as a good base for visiting the World Heritage Site of New Lanark. On our last day in Scotland, chatting with the owner was delightful and made for a lifelong memory. Thank you for the whisky gift and the second helping of haggis!!
