Daiwa Roynet Hotel Nara Natural Hot Spring is set in Nara, within 500 metres of Nara Station and 18 km of Iwafune Shrine. Room was exceptionally spacious, clean and well-equipped. The (interior) onsen was really good - I bathed three times and I enjoyed the entire bath with 2 locals (no one spoke a thing, so quiet) at any one time. One cannot ask for more for a hotel just 1 min walk from JR station, with multiple supermarkets/grocery stores/restaurants next to it. Most people would stay in Kyoto and come to Nara for a day trip. They should do the other way round. Unlike Kyoto hotels, the staff here have exceptionally good manners and all spoke reasonable to good English. The staff really made a big difference!
