Amazing accomodation, what a little gem! You can tell the host had put in a lot of effort for the guests. Outside it looks older, however the inside is fresh and looks newly done up. Self check in was easy, apartment was spacious and very clean. Host has everything you could need, and a manual to help you out with all the appliances and setting up the onsen. Easy to get to by train from the station or Nachi falls, and host sent me through the bus timetable just making out stay that little bit easier. Bikes were a big plus, was a 5 min bike ride for us to grab some dinner as we arrived late in the afternoon. There was a great selection of manga in English and Japanese to enjoy as well. Everything was very convenient and great for travellers walking the Kumano Kodo. Thank you very much for having us!

Located in Katsuragi, Sanso Amanosato features 5-star accommodation with private balconies. A hot spring bath is available for guests, along with an open-air bath. The location was superb- in a tranquil setting, surrounded by mountains. We loved everything about the property. The staff were attentive, clearly proud of the work they do and were really helpful and friendly. The food, as everyone mentioned, was certainly the highlight. We used the private Onsen every day because we enjoyed it that much! The Suite was cosy, with all the necessary amenities and more, and the view from our terrace was great. All in all, the 4D3N stay at this gorgeous property was memorable and we cannot thank the staff enough- and especially the chef- for making our stay such a wonderful one.

Situated in Hashimoto, Yadori Onsen Iyashinoyu features free WiFi, and guests can enjoy a shared lounge, a terrace and a restaurant. The staff came to pick us up at Hashimoto station mid-afternonn because it's really remote from anything and they dropped us at Koyasan the next day. We should have stayed for 2 nights instead of 1 because there is a lot to see in Koya san. The staff was extremely helpful and patient with us. They really took good care of us. The food was amazing ! They even adjusted to my seafood allergy. Thank you for your warm welcome !

Situated just 12 km from Hosshinmon Oji Shrine, Watarase Onsen Hotel Sasayuri offers accommodation in Hongu with access to a garden, a shared lounge, as well as a lift. I was very happy when I got to the hotel the atmosphere just felt really friendly and warm. I loved the bridge over the river to the onsen. The onsen was lovely, three outside pools and an indoor pool plus a private onsen for families or couples. The food was fantastic, eat slowly I ate too quickly and felt full too soon. There was a very friendly front of house staff member called Suchittra or maybe Sasayuri. I had a western twin room on the ground floor. The hotel was comfortably busy without being hectic. They have a shuttle bus and that was very handy from Hongu. When I left they gave me very good instructions how and when to catch the public bus to my next location.
