Great service, the staff was very helpful and friendly. They picked us up at the bus station for free when it was heavy raining. They showed us crocodiles, birds, fruit bats and buffalos around the area again for free. So, when you need to go somewhere they will get you there. We also played carrom with the staff. The owners and their family were so incredibly welcoming (including their two lovely dogs). We had an amazing stay - the location is absolutely idyllic - surrounded by nature with beautiful views of the lake. The tree house / cabana was lovely and roomy and spotless - you do share it with the wildlife but the geckos are incredibly cute (we loved watching their antics at night) and there are mosquito nets for the beds. We went on a safari and the family came along which was lovely (they bought us all plenty of snacks to munch on too) - we saw all sorts of amazing species and were even lucky enough to see a leopard. We really fell in love with the place and the people - can't recommend enough!

Situated 2.9 km from Tissa Wewa, New Vilard offers a garden, and air-conditioned accommodation with a terrace and free WiFi. The Host an his family were super nice and welcomed us with tea and coffee. The room had a well working AC, hot water and a mosquito net. The included breakfast was good and they even habe us a lunchpaket when we had to leave at 5 am in the morning for the safari. The Host offers a safari himself. In the evening they cooked very much and delicious food on our request. If you are planning to go on safari in the Yala Nationalpark, i would definitely recommend to stay here.

Owner made sure we had a breakfast packed for a very early departure (0430), and allowed us to quickly change and wash up before departing after our safari experience. Best deal I have ever had for a night’s stay. Very clean and roomy and comfortable!

The host was very attentive and kind. The room was very clean and big, and had a safari vibe🙂. The food was absolutely delicious - fish with pineapples was my favourite. The host organised our safari, wake us in early morning, gave us breakfast to go, and we had lunch after trip. We met an elephant on way back to hotel, and fed him with bananas. So I recommend not to eat bananas and save it for elephants) I’d recommend to stay there for 2 or 3 days, cause after safari you want to rest and lay in hammock. I”ll return to stay here, I’m sure)

Excellent rooms, excellent staff, excellent food, excellent decor, everything was so well thought of. Absolutely superb place
