We loved the reception by Mrs Julia, who was very kind and friendly. She gave us tips on restaurants nearby. We also enjoyed the wineyard at the bottom of the hotel and that we were allowed to walk around at any time. The place is very calm and quiet, perfect for a escape from the city hustle and bustle. Mr Jose was also of extreme kindness setting us up with a lovely boat tour through Douro on my bday. We had just asked where we could arrange for the tour and he went all the way calling the person and helping us organize. Breakfast was delicious and all the staff was really attentive. We highly recommend a stay with them!

The building was extraordinarily refurbished, and will be especially appreciated by those who like the character and spaciousness of historic homes. The pool was a lovely place to spend the afternoon, especially watching the sunset over the valley while having some wine and cheese. We enjoyed the large and delicious breakfast, too. We'll definitely come back.
