The food served was outstanding, grown on the farm and healthy. This makes this place a really unique experience!

Carla keeps the place immaculate. Our room was very clean and modern. Had all the amenities we needed. The breakfast was very good. Carla provided us with recommendations on places to see and where to hike. Very nice and affectionate cat, which stays outside. However need a car to get here. There is a wonderful place for dinner by the bridge which is a short walk away. We had dinner there all 3 nights. Lovely stay.

We loved our room (2 bedroom apartment), it was comfortable and clean. Anything we asked and needed, we got quickly. The kitchen has everything you need and there is a cool bbq outside. The view from the room on the river is amazing. Every morning we sat to drink coffee outside. Our girls enjoyed the pool very much.

All was very comfortable and smiling Carla was great at guiding our car down the narrow street close to the house. Wonderful if you can manage the narrow street down to the house.Great walk to the bridge and up to the village and convenient to explore around

Situated in Geres, 10 km from Parque Nacional da Peneda Geres, Hostel Retiro do Gerês features accommodation with a shared lounge, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar. Everything! The food is amazing, the staff are awesome and so friendly and helpful, the room was so clean, everything smelled like new and fresh. I admire the hostel it was really really good! Definitely return here again!!!! Hopefully more than once.

I stayed here on March 17th, 2025. This was the best hotel in Portugal. It had amazing views, a great staff and great amenities. I will stay here frequently.
