Firstly, Matemwe is a relatively quiet spot and the lodge opens up to the beach. You can spend all day just watching life happen or go for a swim/snorkel at high tide or get on a boat to snorkel further out beyond the reef. Secondly the space is comfortable and clean. The staff and the owner are also fantastic…friendly and attentive. The buffet breakfast is great too.

Featuring a garden and views of city, Light of Zanzibar Hotel is a recently renovated bed and breakfast located in Nungwi, 200 metres from Nungwi Beach. The location was great, staff were so friendly and willing to help in any way, nothing was a problem. The bed was very comfortable, great shower and air conditioning. The breakfast was lovely and it varied from day to day. I would definitely stay there again.

Genuinely a fantastic hotel! Everything was exactly like in the photos; a cosy boutique hotel, friendly atmosphere, within a few mins walking distance to a sandy white beach coated with a coral blue ocean. The amenities and rooms were cleaned daily, the breakfast was very tasty and a good choice of beverages/food to buy throughout the day. The owners were brilliant and really attentive, went the extra mile to help us as our luggage got lost and sorted out some spare clothes - not a service you'd get in any other hotel I don't think. We really enjoyed our stay and would certainly return!

Located in Pongwe, a few steps from Pongwe Beach, TOA Hotel & Spa Zanzibar provides accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a fitness centre and a garden. We loved absolutely everything! The staff were so-so kind and helpful, food tasted amazing and there was always so many different types of it. Air conditioning was better than any else hotel we have visited in Africa or Asia and rooms were clean, big and nice. We also loved the pool area where you can get literally everything you want- deeper and lower water, sunshine and not if you've had enough of it already. And best coctails in pool bar!! We had already booked another hotel too before our trip to Zanzibar (a bit more expensive one actually) and we regretted this decision every day and wished we had spent our whole trip in Zanzibar in TOA's hotel.

Charming and quiet boutique hotel with 2 pools. The hotel is well maintained and extremely clean. The rooms are nicely decorated and the bed is very comfortable. Great water pressure (which is not always the case in the island). Delicious breakfast (I loved the avocado toasts). Only 1 minute away from the beach with nice bars / restaurants around. Also a lot of delicious local restaurants in the village only 10 minutes away by walk. The staff is really friendly and welcoming and helpful. I liked everything: the room was big and comfy with a terrace near the pool, the food was good. Very friendly staff and management, many thanks to all of you because I felt like home to your place.
