Just about everything! The place was paradise on earth, so much better than what we had expected! Pradeep was exceptional together with all other staff and chef Prasad. Everyone took the service to another level! Upon our arrival we got a free upgrade so that we had a wonderful 2-room villa! We got all the help we needed with our kite equipment , great support with transport and they even entertained our 4yo son without us asking them to 🥰 The food was amazing! Thank you for making our vacation memorable!!!

I've visited plenty of hotels in Sri Lanka but here i had the most warm welcome. I stayed in cabana which made in traditional rural style. All nessesary facillities (fan, moscito net, privet bathroom) were there. Host Prasanna is amazing and empathetic person. He always helped us with all our reqests but on the same time he wasn't intrusive. Besides, I’d like to mention good value for money, convenient location (10 minutes to beach by foot and 5 minutes by watersport lagoon by tuk-tuk) and delicious (non spicy!) traditional food.

Our stay in Luna laguna has been one of the biggest highlight of our trip in Sri Lanka. The hotel is near the lagoon in a very well maintained garden. What we loved the most: - The place. everything in this hotel is breathtaking. The swimming pool, the rooms, the garden have a charm that make it so special. - The food. A special huge thanks to the talented chef that offered us the best food we had in Sri Lanka. You deserve a big reward for your job. - The people. People working in the hotel are really really good heart people and do their best to make your stay as confortable as possible. A special thanks to django This stay was special for us and you truly contributed to it. I cannot recommend enough Luna laguna for your stay in Kalpitiya. Special advise: Kalpitiya is a very small town with not much to see but the lagoon is breathtaking for any water sport, for sure the best time to start or practice kite, wingfoil, sailboard

The place is perfect! The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are huge and lovely. The staff is great, Hirantha, Sunil and the team were ready to help us whenever we needed. The breakfast and the dinner were absolutely amazing with lots of different options. Great location for wingfoil or kitesurf and amazing views to relax in the pool after a nice session with a cold Lion beer!

Dili and Roshan and their family where treating us as their family members. We felt immediately at home at their place. We enjoyed fantastic meals prepared in their own little restaurant. Each meal was prepared with passion! The last evening we enjoyed at a festival together what was a very special moment for us to dive into Sri lankian culture. We recommend them with great pleasure and we wish them all the best for their future plans.

The name of this hostel truly reflects the place—it is a paradise. It’s a pity this location isn’t more frequented because it’s a fantastic spot, surrounded by coconut palms and charming huts. The owner, Malik, is an excellent host who speaks perfect English and goes out of his way to make guests feel comfortable. Since there were only four of us staying, he generously offered each of us a private room for the same price as a dormitory bed. The beds are equipped with mosquito nets, and they also provide towels, which adds to the comfort of the stay. Breakfast is included, and they offer a restaurant service for lunch and dinner. Additionally, they can arrange various activities in the area. While recent storms have damaged some facilities and the access road—possibly explaining the lower number of visitors—the place remains well-maintained, clean, and conveniently close to both the beach and Kalpitiya Dutch Fort. Day and night, this place offers the perfect tranquility to disconnect from the world and relax. The restaurant terrace has board games, books, and even a lovely cat to keep you company. I highly recommend this hostel—it’s affordable, well-managed, and offers excellent service.

We had a great stay as a family with Meryl. The homestay is in a relaxed setting a block from the beach. The rooms are beautifully clean with great little sitting areas outside and a hammock hanging from the trees. We ate great rice and curry every lunch from their restaurant. The highlight however was the kitesurfing lessons from Meryl- he is a fantastic teacher and took us from beginners to being able to be pulled along / standing up! His teaching method is great, he is incredibly patient - and I would recommend him without hesitation - we will be back!!

    We had a fabulous stay here for two nights. Sabina was an excellent host, always available to help with advice on places to go. We particularly enjoyed the meals we had in the restaurant which were well thought out and offered travellers something different. Sabina was able to cater for vegan / vegetarians and adapted dishes to suit. A great start to our holiday. A good place for dolphin boat trips.

    This was by far the best accommodation of our trip. Shibi and Dinesh were such great hosts and made us feel very welcome during our stay. It is a really special and calm place. The food was amazing and the kitesurf lessons from the resort next door helped us a lot to learn the first steps. It’s really nice how both resorts let the guests make use of both facilities/activities. That’s also nice for socializing. Would definitely recommend!

    Villa Setha Wadi was a great find with an amazing location right on the lagoon - beautiful pool, lounge chairs & kayaks. Our a/c waterfront ensuite room was spacious & quiet, bed was super comfortable. Food was delicious and the chef was able to veganify all our meals. The staff are extremely accomodation. Overall we had an excellent stay. Matt also is an excellent & very experienced kite instructor, with plenty of equipment in excellent condition.

    Loved the place! Spacious and well appointed room, overlooking the lagoon. Was a great place for us to wind our vacation down. We were the only guests in the resort when we stayed, so we got great attention by Romina and Sasi. Food was good, the views were great and the cats on property were very friendly.

    Felt like home. People are so kind, the food was really good, perfect ending of our vacation, a few days we totally crashed at this place. The pool is amazing and we felt really comfortable and at home. We extended our stay 2 times. Just go there is our advice!

    Excellent place to stay during kite holidays in Kalpitiya. By motorboat I was transported everyday to kite beach and back to the resort, the lunch was brougt at the beach too, the staff of the resort was extremely nice and very helpful, they have a kite center managed by instructor Mr. Matt, who is professional kitesurfing teacher. The food was amazing. Resort is situated right at the kiting lagoon. Recommended !

    The Majestic Beach Retreat with its location, amenities and hospitality is one of the best holiday locations on the Western coastal belt of Sri Lanka. I could truly unwind and relax at this retreat to the sounds of the ocean's waves. Its infinity pool offers beautiful vistas of the setting sun.
