Enjoyed the stay in our own space! Amazing location with close proximity to all Kataragama main attractions. Situated right across a lake beside the main road. This place had the best spacious & clean rooms with comfortable bedding when it's compared with other options in Kataragama that's going at these similar rates. Managed by a humble local family and they treated us the best way possible. They even offered morning tea/coffee free of charge in the morning & gifted us some yummy mangoes from their own garden as well at our departure.. Got to know that they can arrange a safari as well if required & saw some great experiences shared by the previous gusts as well.. Parking available. Recommending the place to friends, families & couples who are seeking a peaceful stay :)

your room is its own out building with a lovely big bed and en-suite. All toiletries are provided in the bathroom, and you have a lovely terrace outside with sun loungers to enjoy the peace and quite. the staff are amazing and do everything they can for you. they provided us with taxi service by collecting us from Ella, and then dropping us to Hikkaduwa after the safari day for very good rates. the safari was amazing, and we saw all the animals possible in Yala including Sloth bears and Leopards. 10/10 would recommend

I had the pleasure of staying at Farm Villa Resort in Katharagama for two nights, and it was a wonderful and memorable experience from start to finish! 🌿 From the moment we arrived, the welcome was warm and heartfelt. The staff were exceptionally friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist with anything. Special mention to the front office team – truly a gem in hospitality! The room was spacious, the bathroom was very big, and the overall comfort . The clean and inviting swimming pool was perfect for cooling off and relaxing in the serene atmosphere. What makes Farm Villa Resort truly special is its beautiful location surrounded by nature. The resort is set amidst lush paddy fields, and there's a charming little lake flowing through the property, creating a peaceful, scenic environment ideal for rest and reflection. I enjoyed walking through the paddy fields, listening to the birds in the mornings, and even got to pick fresh fruits from the garden! 🍌🌾 It's also conveniently located – just a short walk to the sacred Kirivehera and Katharagama Dewalaya, making it perfect for both pilgrims and nature lovers.One of the biggest highlights was the full-day Yala Safari arranged by the hotel – an absolutely amazing adventure! 🐘🦁 We saw incredible wildlife, and everything was perfectly organized with a knowledgeable guide.The food was another standout. The traditional Sri Lankan dinner was flavorful and authentic, clearly made with care and love. The breakfast offered plenty of variety, and every meal was beautifully presented. The dining team was attentive and courteous, adding to the overall great experience.In summary, Farm Villa Resort offers far more than just a place to stay – it's a place to connect with nature, enjoy delicious food, and experience genuine Sri Lankan hospitality. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted so warmly by Gabriel, his wife, their children, the stuff, and even their friendly dogs – it genuinely felt like arriving at a home away from home. Lovely little property with a wonderful owner who was always on hand to make sure everything was ok. The outside inside bathroom was a highlight. The food she cooked was excellent and lots of it! They also organised everything for our full safari trip to Yala with a great and safe guide and organised a breakfast to go hamper for the journey which was fabulous.

    We stayed in a family cottage. Kapila, the owner and his wife are very hospitable and Kapila knows a lot about the wild life in Yala NP. He organised a fantastic safari in Yala block 5 and Lunugamvehera National Park. Almost the whole day we drove without seeing anyone!

    Good stay for an early safari tour. We had an excellent tour with lots of fun. Ask for harsha if you want to have a motivated driver with the ultimate goal of seeing a leopard!

    We had a great stay. The staff were extremely attentive and made our stay very enjoyable. The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable and the hotel food was fantastic, offering a variety of food options for breakfast and dinner. The hotel also went above and beyond, helping us to arrange a taxi from Ella and a Yala safari, which was the highlight of our whole trip to Sri Lanka. We would definitely recommend a stay at MCR.

    A beautiful treehouse in the middle of the jungle. If you like to stay in unique, more adventurous accommodations then this is the place for you. It is comfortable and you fall asleep listening to the sounds of nothing but the nature around. The staff is very friendly and willing to help with any questions you’d have. 100% recommend staying here!

    The accomodation is like a hotel in the jungle! The best kind of glamping you could ask for. Dinner is brought to your room (whilst the restaurant is under construction) and was some of the tastiest food we’ve had. The hosts will organise a safari tour for you. We picked the full day and breakfast and lunch was catered for us - more than enough food! The accomodation is on the border of Yala National Park and it was amazing to wake up to monkeys in the trees and buffalo in the garden. Highly reccomended a stay here.

    Great clean and quiet rooms. Booked with them last minute as our pre-booked accommodation was unsatisfactory and this place was leagues better and for a fraction of the price. Would recommend to anyone looking to stay for a safari.

    The individual houses are located in the forest with a lot of amazing animals and green plants. A rooms are really clean, comfortable and well equipped. The hosts are extremely kind and polite people, who can arrange a jeep safari in the Yala National Park if you need. With the delicious dinner in the garden was an unforgettable experience for me staying here and it was my favorite accomodation during our three weeks in Srí Lanka. (out of 8)
