(Tip: the Chinese chiropractor, not the massage parlour, just opposite, is very good). Cheaper than staying in central Taipei but connected by mrt (about 45 mins). Tamsui is a lovely place to be in - lovely coastal views (just 5 mins walk from the residence), great food options, much less crowded and noisy than central Taipei. Even our elderly parents enjoyed the stay. Convenience stores and breakfast stores within walking distance. 24hr self service hot & cold water dispenser and cute stamps and colouring stationery at 1st floor reception. Aircon had warm air mode which was great during winter.
