There is a great hiking trail near the accommodation. The breakfast (and dinner that can be booked) was delicious and they offer also great vegetarian options (some even vegan). We were not very lucky with the weather but still enjoyed our stay and managed to do a hike next day in the morning. I recommend ordering the dinner at their place at is it very tasty and beautifully presented. At night there are fireflies everywhere at the tea plantation (although it might depend on the time of the year - we got lucky :). The room is big and the bed is comfy. The hospitality of the host was extraordinary, too. We wanted to go for a hike the following day early in the morning before the sunrise and the host drove us there and packed breakfast for us. It was quite cold in Alishan, but the hot water supply was very good. Unfortunately, when we arrived, the white Shiba Inu was in heat and had been isolated and taken down the mountain, so we only saw the other two dogs. The staff sister recommended us to go up to see the sunset, but unfortunately, due to the haze, we didn't have a clear view.
