Dawn is a woman who really knows how to run a fabulous B&B, our rooms were so organized, clean and comfortable. It's not often that you stay in a B&B that actually has all the crockery and cutlery for 4 people in each room. Perfectly good bed, soft towels and all channels on the TV. The breakfast was superb, and was lively having a chat with the hostess.

The owners went beyond expectations, and I got stuck without petrol, about 20 km outside Calvinia. I phoned the owners at 24::00 and told them I would not make it to the accommodation for the night. Francois did not hesitate to offer me assistance! Thank you very much! The accommodation was comfortable and very clean. Thank you yet again!

We were welcomed and settled in by the kind, friendly and hospitable hostess. The accommodation is also centrally located. Breakfast was superb. Would definitely stay there again. Akkerdam B&B is highly recommended.

What a magical place. It is quirky, tranquil and beautiful. Henri and Sonja were great hosts and we spent a delightful evening in their company. I was truly sad that we could only stay one night.

An amazing property on the outskirts of Calvinia in the hantam karoo. Spotlessly clean, beautiful white towels , and spacious. X2 bbq (braai) indoor and outdoor . Well equipped kitchen and great veranda (stoop) for relaxing , views of the hills and mountains , peaceful . Farm eggs were also provided which was a bonus. Karen was very friendly when checking in and there is a high level of security at the property. Great WiFi also

Lovely room and surroundings. Well worth driving there. Comfortable bed and accommodation is well equipped. Solar power which demonstrates you can live off grid in great comfort! We loved the birds that came to visit. Quiet location where you can see the stars at night!

    have stayed at Tarantula before, quiet area, accommodation is far apart from each other, behind walls and gates, nice to sit on the stoep whilst the fire is going, fully equipped kitchen, table and chairs inside as well as outside on the stoep, separate shower and toilet with small shampoo and lotion available. Television should you wish to watch. Aircon for the hot days and nights. have only stayed 1 night at a time but can easily stay longer should you wish to explore the area.

    Hendrina met us at the entrance on arrival and explained everything in detail. The house was fantastic, we had our own private garden with braai area and swimming pool! The view from our accommodation was breathtaking! What a beautiful place to stay. Next time we will book for longer.

    Spacious and comfortable accommodation, which made for a very pleasing 3 night stay. All the facilities are excellent, and the bathroom shower had good strong water pressure. The private use swimming pool added that touch of "exclusivity," and we were delighted the weather was good enough to allow us to make good use of it. All in all, a thoroughly relaxing stay in a very nicely thought out accommodation. Highly recommended, and we will definitely stay again if we ever return to the area.

    Marcel and Gezina are fantastic hosts and pay great attention to detail. We really loved our stay at Carmel Villa and can highly recommend it in Calvinia. The breakfast we had at Carmel Villa was also fantastic! We stayed in Calvinia to see the flowers around Niewoudville and think that Carmel Villa is a wonderful accommodation option. We will definitely be back.

    Not able to avail ourselves of breakfast but the quality of the accommodation in the two bedroomed cottage in the garden was superb. Comfortable well equipped rooms and excellent fibre WiFi. The hosts went out of their way to give a warm welcome and make themselves readinly available to deal with any issues or answer questions about the town. Highly recommend Carmel Villa and would happily stay there again.
