Surrounded by woodland, scenic walks can be enjoyed in the immediate area. Aviemore town centre and rail station are less than 10 minutes’ walk away. The Cairngorms National Park is within 30 minutes’ drive of High Range Lodge Hotel. Large rooms, super clean, modern. Needed space to stage my new ski touring setup. Picked this place because the rooms are bigger than other comparables in Aviemore. It was all true! Lots of space to spread out and arrange my gear. Bathroom faucets / sink is deep so could easily accommodate a Nalgene (really annoying when places have cheap setups so you have to fill your water bottle with the cap) Lots of plugs to charge stuff where you need it. 2 x large coffee mugs (can accommodate cereal :) 2 x whisky tumblers 2 x drinking glasses 1 x small fridge with a mini freezer that works (for a mini freezer) Super clean. Very centrally located.

Situated within 43 km of Balmoral Castle and 16 km of Corgarff Castle in Tomintoul, Glenlivet by Wigwam Holidays provides accommodation with a kitchenette. This holiday home features free private parking and luggage storage space. The property offers barbecue facilities and outdoor furniture. I'm generally not a person that stays in small huts like this, but I was positively surprised by this one. It isn't the most spaceous, but it was great for the two days we stayed there, and if you're a more wilderness/camping kind of person, I definitely recommend it. The surroundings were lovely woods with some nice walking paths, that especially at night provided some great opportunities for star watching, and the hut itself has a nice little kitchen with everything you need (except maybe an oven, but if you do it right, you can definitely do without that), and a nice and clean shower, the beds were also very comfortable. Every hut also has a fire place outside, and the owners provide firewood upon request, if there is no fire ban at the moment, which can happen if it becomes too dry. I can definitely recommend this if you are looking fora little bit more adventurous stay!

This 4-star hotel offers a 24-hour front desk. Certain units at the property have a terrace with a river view. Excellent breakfast, good coffee. Room comfortable, quiet. Good tea / coffee, enjoyed the brownies.

Situated 15 km from Balmoral Castle, Ailsa- Enchanting Tiny House with wood burner and hot tub in Cairngorms features accommodation in Ballater with access to a hot tub. The property has garden views and is 44 km from CairnGorm National Park and 21 km from Aboyne Golf Club. There is an outdoor fireplace and guests can make use of free WiFi, free private parking and an electric vehicle charging station. This was just wonderful, I’d have stayed longer had it been available. Such a cutely furnished tiny house. The lovely hosts are always trying to improve these already excellent cabins by adding more thoughtful details. I loved the skylight above the bed. Best light for reading. Drift off to sleep with the stars twinkling above you. Great Deeside walks just outside the front door. Perfect cosy place for two; I’d say fitting four in here might get a little cramped, especially if you’re going to leave 4 people’s luggage lying around randomly. Hot tub a nice feature. One commenter complained about not being able to use it in the rain, which, frankly, is weird. When you’re immersed in hot water, the rain can’t touch you. The hosts were extremely friendly, and, in my case, literally went that extra mile! Big thank you to Karl, Bess, and Stacey!

Featuring a garden and views of mountain, Craggan is a bed and breakfast situated in a historic building in Ballater, 16 km from Balmoral Castle. This bed and breakfast offers free private parking and full-day security. It is possible for guests to sit outside and enjoy the property grounds. Craggan is not like other B&B's, or any other accommodations for that matter. Martyn and Louise are the most relaxed and warmest of hosts, yet they work so hard to deliver for their guests. They have created a beautiful, luxurious, and unique property that delivers a very personal experience. My partner and I stayed in the Balmain Room. Every detail had been thought of; two pieces of lemon drizzle cake in the room as a welcome was a lovely touch. The room is beauitfully appointed, very spacious with views on the beautiful grounds that surround the house, and it's own separate entrance (only the Balmain room has this I think) The bed is huge and super comfortable, we slept so well. The bathroom is also spacious and luxurious. Breakfast is made to order each morning, in addition to a breakfast buffet that you can help yourself to. Louise bakes all the cakes herself and they are superb. This is a stay I will always remember.

The holiday home is equipped with 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, bed linen, towels, a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, a dining area, a fully equipped kitchen, and a terrace with mountain views. Guests can enjoy a meal on an outdoor dining area while overlooking the garden views. For added privacy, the accommodation features a private entrance. It was a perfect location and was a great base for the things we wanted to do. With a full kitchen and a washer, it was great for the middle of our three-week trip.

Very responsive via booking.com messages. Beautiful cabin with everything you need for a quick getaway. Nice touch with the bottle of red wine and the guest information booklet, made me feel well looked after by the hosts.
