The staff were really friendly and made us feel at home, the location was excellent and central, and the room was clean and comfortable. The snacks were a great touch after a long day of travel. We will definitely love to stay again in the future.

The location is on a quiet street, short walk from Samegai JR station (which unfortunately does not have an escalator) The Ryokan has been renovated beautifully, plenty of space to read, chat, eat and relax. The Ryokan has well thought out shared bathrooms, toilet and a small kitchenette with a kettle, small fridge and microwave available for use. The Ryokan is very clean with fresh towels provided everyday. The host Usui san cooks breakfast and dinner daily upon request, but you are free to buy food and eat it at the Ryokan.

Featuring garden and inner courtyard views, this bed and breakfast also comes with free WiFi. Kiyomizu-dera Temple is 12 km away and Mount Hiei is 14 km from the bed and breakfast. Staffs are super friendly, though some of them don’t speak English at all, yet their warm attitude makes everything good.

A free shuttle runs to/from JR Ogoto-Onsen Station, which is a 5-minute ride away. Absolutely everything here is incredible. The dinner in particular is one of the best meals I've ever had in my life with super helpful waiters who will explain each meal as it comes. Front-of-house staff are extremely helpful and friendly, and will even send a shuttle bus out to collect you from the train station and bring you back after your stay has concluded. You're greeted with a warm tea and smiling faces. The room is beautiful, large and spotlessly clean. Private onsens are reasonably priced and very relaxing. Breakfast was also delicious and the nicest breakfast I had in my 3 week stay in Japan.

Such a special place to stay - open air bath was worth booking.

The room was spacious and clean. Free snacks and tea were included, and amenities were readily available. Dinner was excellent, and breakfast was good, too. I tried 3 out of 4 of the public baths (none of the reservable private ones, though) and found them all to be very nice. I liked the indoor one on the 8th floor (which had an open air as well) the most, though the open air bath on the 11th floor was great , too. Staff were very friendly and warm, too. It was easy to access from Ogoto onsen station because there's a phone that allows you to call the shuttle bus.
