I can't say that I liked it; I loved it.
Fiji Lodge Vosa Ni Ua is exceptional with its location, cute cottage and lovely staff support that truly makes it a home away from home.
The communication with the owner - Clark Murphy is efficient and he makes it as seamless as possible.
The lovely feel of the entire place and location makes it convenient for travel along the Hibiscus Highway with lovely nights accompanied by the signature "Vosa Ni Ua" or voice of the waves on the beach nearby.
To put it simply, I loved everything about Fiji Lodge Vosa Ni Ua.

Very special and atmospheric place. Extremely friendly and sincere staff. If you wish to explore and participate in authentic local traditional happenings like lovo dinner or kava ceremony, Salt Lake Lodge is the place to stay. And never book any guided tours on the Salt Lake from third parties, because if you are staying at Salt Lake Lodge you will get all the equipment and advice for free to do it on your own! Book the romantic dinner on the Salt Lake instead. This comes at an additional cost, but Salt Lake lodge staff and extraordinary chef will go out of their way to turn this into the most amazing and unexpected surprise during your whole stay in Fiji!

The bure is really comfortable and has everything you need and even more! The bedroom is super comfortable and the kitchen has everything you need to cook. The small market is just at the entrance and can provide fresh vegetables straight from the garden.
You can also get on a kayak tour with very high-quality kayaks and experience a nice, quiet and peaceful adventure directly from the bure.
I highly recommend for families and group of friends!

Candida and Grant are the most accommodating and kind hosts! They saw that i was comfortable and had everything that i needed at every point of my stay. Latui Loft is situated looking out on the lush rainforest and you are greeted by many birds and Butterflys. Such a beautiful spot and so tranquil. the place is incredibly clean and the attention to detail is amazing! beautiful special little touches like cookies and chips to snack on, and salt crystals for the bath. I can't thank Candida and Grant enough for the kindness they showed me and for sharing the amazing space they have created with people from all over the world :) <3

This was a perfect place to stay for me and my partner, just minutes out of the town means that it is both convenient and quiet. The staff were super helpful and happy to check us in late after we arrived from the ferry. All in all a lovely experience.

Savusavu is a great location for a peaceful holiday, giving to a more traditional Fijian experience with less resorts on the island.
The market is a great for self catering or just absorbing the atmosphere, especially early on Sat when the fish market is there too.
The people are very friendly and fun to be around, as you walk down the street you are constantly greeted warmly with Bula!
Nateway Bay is mostly untouched and an amazing place to see.

Definitely make the effort to venture across to Savusavu—it’s far more picturesque than Fiji’s main island. Getting around is a breeze: you can hop on local buses, grab a taxi, or simply wave down a friendly local for a ride (just agree on the fare beforehand). The people are incredibly welcoming and helpful—they’ll happily arrange any activity you fancy, and you’ll feel the rich Fijian culture everywhere.
We even attended a Sunday singing service in the local church—it was breathtaking to hear the harmonies and feel the community spirit firsthand.
One outstanding place to dine is La Dolce Vita Resort, where Chef Michele crafts everything from scratch—each dish melts in your mouth with fresh, local flavors.

Scruffy little town (and scruffy island) with not a lot for tourists. I have much preferred staying in the Mamanuca Island chain - cuter islands, more of a holiday feel and better snorkelling than what we experienced here.
The best thing was watching steam rising off the beach in town at sunset, glowing golden in the late afternoon sun
