Esmeralda Il Quadrifoglio Airport Fontanarossa is located in Catania, just 1.5 miles from Lido Arcobaleno and 3.4 miles from Piazza del Duomo, Catania. Our hosts helped us to find the location because it was a little hard to find, but it was perfectly situated within walking distance to the airport for our departure the next morning. A recently renovated vacation home, Prince Airport House offers accommodations in Catania. This vacation home offers free private parking, a 24-hour front desk, and free Wifi. I had been deserted by so called friends in a city and left by myself. I booked this and the lady was in touch to arrange a time. She was on hand the whole time even though she had no idea of my story, she was a friendly welcoming lady and I'm grateful I came here for the night. It was immaculately clean, welcoming and the extra touches like a coffee machine with supplies and cakes. Absolutely excellent. The air conditioning was a god send as I had been camping all week. Everything is thought about and the price is excellent. Thank you for a great stay x

B&B temptation airport fontanarossa shared house with several rooms is located in Catania, just 1.1 miles from Lido Arcobaleno and 3.9 miles from Piazza del Duomo, Catania. We stayed here after our late-night arrival in Catania, and it was a great decision. The location is perfect — just a 10-minute walk from the airport. It took us a moment to find the entrance, but check-in was easy thanks to their online system. The interior had a unique and interesting design, definitely not your average B&B. The room was clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was spacious and fully equipped. We really appreciated the small touches — there was food waiting for us for a late dinner or early breakfast, and a coffee machine to start the morning right. Communication with the host was great — she was helpful and kind throughout. Overall, it’s a great stop for travelers flying in or out of Catania

Le Dune Sicily Hotel is only 1.2 mi away from the city center of Catania. It lies in an enchanting place between the golden sand of "de La Plaia" beach and a beautiful small Maritime pine forest. This was our third stay in Sicily.
A lovely city in the shadow of Mount Etna. Lots of sights to see. The airport is fairly close to the city. There is a metro in the city although it only has one line and 12 stops at present but it is being expanded. Some very good museums. I can recommend two very close together. The Cinema Museum and the 1943 Allied Invasion Museum. The famous fish market is woth seeking out as well.
The old town of Catania is interesting and there are significant buildings to visit. The meat and fish markets are well worth a visit. High quality shops for everything you want in the newer parts of the city. Public transport is both reliable and cheap. As are the taxis. We went by bus to Taormina which is overwhelmed with tourists but fun for a short time. Tours and activities of all sorts are available here.
Loved everything about Catania, very beautiful part of Sicily, would 100% recommend, visiting mount etna is a must. It’s breathtaking. Maravigghia gelato is amazing, mm! Street food does great fish meals and La Locanda di Luciano is a must visit the food is delicious and portion size was big, great value for money.
If you have not been to Catania before, you might be a bit taken aback by the run-down look of the city as there is plenty of graffiti on the walls. However, once you get past this, you'll find that the city has ALOT to offer. Beautiful buildings, fantastic history, buildings and architecture. Wonderful food and food markets, interesting art. Even some of the graffiti looked cool. It doesn't make a great first impression but it definitely grows on you. A tip - if you're on a budget and want to buy some mementos to take home, don't buy at the 'first' place you get to - stroll around the city streets and compare prices. Some places charge alot less for same items than others, and the tourist items in the city shops and markets cost alot less than at the airport.
We didn't expect to spend any time here but ended up having more than we planned. The food was surprisingly great and the atmosphere, though filled with tourists, was still fun! The ruins are a must see!
First visit. Will be returning for longer at the end of our trip. Vibrant Catania very quirky, which I like, people, polite, friendly and want to help, food lovely. Which was refreshing as our years spent in Spain(Costa del Sol) on holidays we have experienced a change no longer the friendliest and the food served no longer the best.
