Providing a terrace, Bakushuku Den Guest House Brew provides accommodations in Matsuyama. Charming guesthouse. Den and the rest of the staff are really lovely, friendly people. They even let me check in later than usual because my flight got delayed because of a typhoon. They left messages on signs for me every morning to wish me a good day. The guesthouse has a traditional Japanese guesthouse style, with some tatami rooms with futons and other ones with beds. But the guesthouse itself is well preserved, so it feels traditional but not old. They offer amenities such as face and body towel, toothpaste, face cleanser, body soap, shampoo, conditioner, hair dryers, and cotton swabs, apart from a kitchen with a fridge and utensils you can use to cook, and a washing machine as well. The guesthouse is located right above a brewery, but even though they play music, I didn't feel my room was noisy and I could rest well at night (and they close before midnight). Anyway, they leave earplugs and blindfolds in your room in case you need them. The place was clean and had some nice art. It's a 5-minute walk to Mitsu station, which takes you to the central area in less than 30 minutes. I can recommend it.

いわしの子守唄 Sardine Lullaby is a recently renovated guest house in Matsuyama near Minatomishimadaimyo Shrine. This guest house provides free private parking, bicycle parking, and free Wifi. There is something so grounded and peaceful about this homestay in little town Mitsu. The owner cooked great breakfast and carefully attend my need. Moreover, the sea smell, the small coffee shop in the alley and the friendly people makes it hard to leave this place. If you really want a healing, go here.

Hotel Fine Garden Matsuyama is located in Matsuyama, within 2 miles of Minatomishimadaimyo Shrine and 2.5 miles of Matsuyama Station. The room was spacious with a big bathroom. The hotel provides lots of toiletries to make your stay comfortable. Breakfast was delivered to the room in the morning.

Kominka Mitsuhama Ryokan is a recently renovated vacation home in Matsuyama where guests can make the most of the open-air bath and garden. The host and the property are the most wonderful! It was a comfortable accomodation with plenty of room to relax and spend time (you can even feed the koi in the ponds of the small gardens) The vibes are immaculate and the town of Mitsu itself very cute, also Matsuyama is easily accesible through 2 train stations in the vicinity

It was like stepping back in time. The host, Maiyu, and her husband were super friendly. They own a cafe downstairs where she serves very delicious traditional dessert. The town itself was lovely as well. It's traditional bedding (so futon on the floor) and even though there was no AC at night, the cross breeze from some of the open windows, as well as the fans, made the room surprisingly cool. No mosquitos either!

Located just a 3-minute walk from JR Matsuyama Station, Hotel Aisul Matsuyama is a 10-minute tram ride from Matsuyama Castle. The hotel is a 15-minute drive from Matsuyama Airport. Stayed in the hotel as part of a solo walking henro trip. Everything was good with this hotel stay- room ws fine, clean and comfortable. Location near the Matsyama JR station was convinient. As with other hotels had to wait till the checkin time so was able to leave my backpack and walk around the area. When I returned they have already moved my backpack to the room (nice).
