The island itself is very beautiful, with a bikini beach where you can enjoy sunbathing, a beautiful coral reef, and welcoming locals. everybody is laid back and enjoys welcoming tourists. But the best part is the staff! ❤️ They go above and beyond to accommodate every wish, they prepare all kinds of surprises, have great tours and excursions, and are some of the most warm-hearted people I have met. The prices are more than reasonable, and the experience of staying on a local island and immersing in the local culture is what a holiday in Maldives should be! Located on the largest island in Dhaalu Atoll, Kandima Maldives offers an abundance of water-sports, the largest beach club and tennis and Volleyball courts. From start to finish, staff were very friendly and welcoming and well organized. Food was amazing at the buffet and the a la carte restaurants. Located in Dhaalu Atoll, Sun Siyam Iru Veli - Premium All Inclusive has a fitness centre, an indulgent over water spa and a bar. Everything was amazing, the room was breath taking !! Buffet breakfast was sensational too. Loved that they even had mimosa's and bloody mary shots. Staff were super friendly. Highly recommend doing the wine tasting. All the restaurants were incredible. Beach, so blue, so warm, so full of life !! Loved swimming with the friendly baby sharks.

A beachfront property, Angsana Velavaru offers 3 restaurants with water villas and private pools on Velavaru Island (Turtle Island). It is a 45-minute Seaplane ride from Malé International Airport. It was our first time traveling to Maldives, so cannot compare this hotel to others, but the whole experience was terrific! If you stay in one of the In-Ocean rooms, you are basically staying in the middle of an enormous exotic aquarium. Any time you desire, you just jump into the water and see all kinds of marine life, including turtles, stingrays, baby sharks, octopuses, and all kinds of fish! We even watched a group of dolphins swim around the reef. The room we stayed in was huge, which made us feel like we could stay in the room our entire trip without feeling the need to go out. The staff was great, but we stayed here during Ramadan, which was extra tough on them, having to fast. Also, there is a baseline difference between hospitality in the US and Maldives; having said that I think they did a decent job. The food options were good, but not particularly memorable.
