St Helens
Pelican Point Sanctuary is a unique wetland and grassland 87 acre property located 2 kilometres from St Helens, on the road to Bay of Fires, Tasmania.
We offer a diverse range of accommodation ranging from 'Blue Wren Cottage', nestled among the trees to villas with floor-to-ceiling windows that maximise your exposure to nature and silence. All the accommodation is self-contained.
Of all the places we stayed in Tassie this was by far the best! We stayed in Blue Wren which had 180 degrees of view and most of this was floor to ceiling.
If you like bird watching this is the great place to stay as it has a hide which looks into the estuary, if not sit back and enjoy the view as the bird life will come to you!!! Alternatively wander/cycle along the newly built walkway into town which is also worth a visit.
The facilities were luxurious and had a real wow factor about them. When we're back that way I'll certainly be staying here again.

Self catering unit, location ok
spacious apartment, neutral modern decor and well equipped for self catering as very few choices of eating out in St Helens in September
The park has been well designed. The location by the water is lovely with plenty of trees and gardens. It was also handy having the restaurant and shop and takeaway pizzas making up for being a little bit out of town. The studio cabin itself was small but had lots of conveniences packed into it. Good range of kitchen utensils for self catering. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. We appreciated the welcome and farewell phone texts.
A typical old-style motel with no frills. Clean, good beds, fresh white linen and towels. A bit dated and furniture looked like it came from grandmas house, but otherwise fine for the price. Kitchen was fairly well-appointed for self-catering. Thr location is convenient, just down the road from shops.
Self catering facilities were well provided & a great location. BBQ facilities & garden area were an additional bonus. Washing machines also available.
