Lorena was a very thoughtful and helpful hostess, and with excellent English. She left the “ garage” (gated archway) open to help our arrival and unpacking. This is an attractive, very well equipped large apartment conversion in an old building, just up a few steps. Everything is to a high standard and every kitchen item possible provided! As we were travelling, the washing machine and large drying rack were very welcome! It was chilly, and she switched the central heating on for us. Very comfortable bed and lounge sofa and chairs. We had initial problems connecting to the wifi but, when resolved, it was fine. Lorena had also thoughtfully provided a selection of adapters and chargers to use. Free nearby street parking. We enjoyed the nearby Italian restaurant one evening. We accidentally found the “One Day in 1525” festival in old Bretten on the Saturday, an incredible all day re-enactment of this period. Apparently a rehearsal for the bigger annual Peter and Paul Festival,in July, it involved literally hundreds of locals across all generations and was so enjoyable.

I had a fantastic experience at this charming small hotel nestled in the heart of a quaint German town. Despite booking the wrong dates, the hotel staff went above and beyond to accommodate our family. They adjusted our reservation and had our rooms ready within just one hour. Rooms were modern and very clean. Charming view of the cozy central square with fountain and restaurants. I highly recommend this hotel for both its hospitality and its lovely location.

The hosts of Maison da Silva have been amazing! From their welcoming tour of the house and garden, their welcome drink, the amazing breakfast they prepared for us, their advices on what to see and also the fact they called a restaurant to find us a place to eat in the night... Thank you so much to both of you! We could feel how much you love welcoming people in your house! The room is beautiful, extremely clean and well equipped. Everything was smelling very good! The breakfast was surprisingly amazing, with a lot of variety and quantity (enough for 2 days). Free sparkling water, juices, coffee and tea were at our disposal. We definitely recommend this place to anyone!
