PhilippinesIt was a self-catering place and had everything we needed to prepare the cooked food we had already carried for our trip. When we arrived, the caretaker was already on hand to welcome us. He respected our privacy, so as soon as he saw that we were settling in, he made himself scarce. Sure, the water pressure was low and the freezer wasn't cold, but that's because of the general location itself, so it's not a deal breaker at all. My sister and I were respectful of conserving electricity and water. Any guest who comes should be aware of this and manage their expectations. The important thing is that we had a restful and comfortable stay in the Red House. We had a fantastic view of Mount Kilimanjaro. The breeze was refreshing. The owner was very responsive to my queries. I had a bit of a challenge driving on the corrugated dirt road. Took me longer than expected, again nothing to do with the accommodations itself, but any visitor should be aware that they really need a 4x4 to get to the location. I will be a repeat visitor, for sure. Can't wait to return with friends in the near future.
