Room was very large and comfortable with nice artistic and homely touches. Bathroom was a little small and awkward but attractive. Surrounding old town was worth walking to the accomodation and would have liked to stay longer to appreciate the history but we had only booked one night in this town to be near the start of our cruise in the Port one station away on the next day.

The House of the poet is located in Civitavecchia. Free WiFi is available throughout the property and Il Pirgo Beach is less than 1 km away.

Paolo was an absolute gem. Probably hands down the best host I have ever experienced. He picked us up from the train station. He showed us around a little. Then gave us suggestions on where to sight see. Took us to a restaurant for dinner that he highly recommends. He allowed us to leave our luggage at the apartment while we went and looked at the sights. He then drove our luggage to the cruise terminal. The apartment was better than I imagined. It was huge. Clean, very well equiped and feels homely. The apartment is a very easy flat ground 8 minute walk to the cruise terminal. I can not recommend this gem of a place enough. Paolo speaks Italian and uses google translate. He is extremely patient with communication and looks for alternate ways to help you. Well done Paolo and thank you so much for your hospitality. We had a mix up with the car we had booked to pick us up at the airport and our hosts could not have been more helpful in solving our problem. The breakfast was also delicious.

,The location - close to beach, train station and cruise port is excellent. The space in the apartment is very good and would accommodate a family of 4. Value for money at 85 Euro per night is excellent. Most importantly the staff - Vittorio - could not be more helpful and friendly. We were shown where the various parts of the town were and given a free lift to the cruise port. Such a nice friendly man. Would thoroughly recommend anyone staying in town for 1 or 2 nights before a cruise to stay here.

The location in the centre of Civitavecchia was ideal. Close to all amenities. We were basically resting for a day just ahead of our cruise. Our host Federica made sure we were comfortable and answered all our questions about the area. She even drove us to the ship for our departure! The apartment was very clean and bright. A beautiful stay. Highly recommended.

Fabulous hotel, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it and will stay again if we are in the area. We took two rooms here for our family before our cruise the next day. The hotel was modern and very comfortable. The staff were superb and so helpful, they efficiently organised all of our taxis for us, helped with restaurants etc. Included breakfast was an added bonus. Thanks so much.

We loved our stay here! Janet was a fantastic and generous host. She is someone who genuinely wants everyone to have the best time in her place. She picked us up from the train station and took us there on our way back. The breakfast was catered to whatever we wanted and the time we wanted. And it was great! The apartment and the room were very nice and clean, and we could even see the sunset from a large balcony. We couldn’t recommend Janet’s B&B more.
