We had a large apartment with all modern facilities provided for 7 days. We were on the 10th floor with a wrap around balcony which gave us 280 degree views of the ocean, Kii Mountains and Shirahama town. The complex is very new so all accessories were in very good order. The bath for a Japanese facility was very large and thus used often. We chose this apartment complex because of it's location to the beach, supermarket and onsens. We especially enjoyed being able to cook for ourselves and everything necessary for that was provided.

A recently renovated ryokan set in the Kinosaki Onsen district of Toyooka, Base House Kinosaki お子様無料でサウナもアクティビティも楽しめる一棟貸し宿 Private Japanese villa with free guest shuttle, sauna, local activities, and... My stay was fantastic - the hosts offered to pick me up from the train station, and also drove me to and from the town centre when I wanted to visit the local onsen. I spent the evening getting to know the hosts and the other travellers around the fireplace. The share room was really comfortable as well. Thank you !

The room was comfortable and the hostess was so kind. Breakfast chiffon cake was excellent! What a great start to the Kumano Kodo Hike.

In a prime location in the Shirahama Onsen district of Shirahama, Dormitory Sandanya Guesthouse is located 2.4 km from Shirarahama Beach, 1.8 km from Kishu Museum of Art and 2 km from Heisogen Park. The host is very nice and helpful. The unit is clean and tidy. Complete facilities for travellers. Beds are comfortable and the environment is very quiet. For this cost, I am very satisfied. I will definitely book it again if I come to this place in future.
