It was a cold but sunny day and inside it was bright during the day and warm and cosy at nighttime. The tower is full of character. Massive beams, cosy bedrooms and soulfully decorated. Beautifully maintained chalet, comfortably furnished set in an often forgotten but tourist friendly part of the Netherlands. Well equipped kitchen, but would have liked a freezer compartment in fridge. Very effective heating to warm through for a few minutes in autumn. One of us found the bed too soft. Quietly placed at the end of a chalet/camping park amidst historic old villages and woodland. Possibilities to let dog off lead in nearby woods and within easy reach of Groningen City and historic monuments such as Veenhuizen en Westerbork. For children, famous Emmen Zoological Park is just South East.
