It’s perfectly located for a family - a direct shot up to hikes that start down the road, right by the entrance to the car to take you up the mountain, near the playground and it’s remarkable views, and a three minute walk into town, a five minute drive to snow at the Dachstein cable car station. The home seemed brand new during our stay. The cutting boards had no scratches, the knives were sharp, glasses perfectly arranged in the shelves, new wood supports and furniture giving the home the smell of new wood, a TV with Netflix in every room, a beautiful balcony, and a shower with some of the best water pressure you can imagine.

The breakfast was very good and so was the dinner & the sweets too! All of the staff was very nice, polite & helpful! Totally recommended!

Pension Sarstein is located directly on the shore of Lake Hallstatt in the Salzkammergut region, a 2-minute walk from the centre of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Hallstatt. We have stayed at the Pension Sarstein for more than 4 decades - when it was run by the present owner, Mr. Fischer's mother. It is still wonderful and so are the Fischers. That says it all.
