The old centre and lighthouse is all within walking distance.

Activities such as snorkelling, windsurfing, cycling can be enjoyed in the surroundings, and guests can relax along the beachfront. A bicycle rental service is available at the apartment, while walking tours and pub crawls can be enjoyed nearby. Everything was great! Marleen met me and gave me the keys. She was very friendly and helpful and answered all my questions. There were some complementary snacks: sugar-glazed almonds and two cartons with fruit juice. The apartment was large, spotlessly clean and had everything (a fully equipped kitchen, bathrobes (which were very om point, considering the fact the weather was very cold for the end of May, and it was a bit chilly in the evenings), a fridge with a freezer, a hair drier etc.) The neighbourhood is very safe (well, Urk IS a very safe city in general), there are two bakeries, a supermarket, a sweets store and a slaughter shop next door. The beach is a few minutes away by foot.

It was located in the center of Hindeloopen and we were able to walk everywhere in town. Leon was a great host. He is very friendly and we enjoyed getting to know him. He knows everyone in town. He helped us rent bikes and also connected us with community members who assisted us in hunting down our family’s roots in Hindeloopen. Leon went above and beyond, even doing our laundry! We would love to come back with our family members.

The historic city centre of Hoorn is a 4-minute walk away. There are 2 small beaches 600 metres away. Schiphol Airport is 42 km away from El Puerto Bed and Breakfast. Such a good place to stay. The location is great. The room had windows to two sides with views of the harbour. It was comfortable and immaculately clean - and great shower and spa bath. Coffee and tea making facilities. The owner was friendly and couldn't have done more to make us welcome. As for the breakfast - served in your room and amazing. Everything good quality and tailored to your requests. A perfect stay. One thing to note - the stairs are steep and narrow - would be difficult for anyone with mobility problems.
