We loved staying in Smile Jungle Hostel, from the first minute to the last. Gonzalo is an amazing host and this was our favourite accommodation in Central America. You feel right at home because everything you could possibly need is available and Gonzalo is always so warm and positive. Bonus points for su madre and for showing us our first sloth! 😊 Gracias por todo!

Adored the host, Christian, his warmth and humor, and the superb combination of a sophisticated, classy design and all the little details that elevate this property from really good to simply excellent: beautiful linens, overall color scheme, wine glasses in the rooms, amazing food and drinks, the softest towels, the lightning in and around the houses, all the adorable little animals in the garden. We really enjoyed our stay a lot. We had a beautiful little house near the river, with a hot shower and a comfortable bed, also an extra living room and a little kitchen. Could see monkeys and sloths, agutis and a lot of other different wildlife from our terrace. Free water, laundry and kayaks. Everything was really clean and only 5 min walk to the beach. Helped us with everything we needed. A tuktuk to puerto viejo takes about 10 mins. Everyone was really friendly we would def come again.

Really nice and welcoming and positive host. The kitchen had everything you can imagine, including a good blender. Lovely 3 dogs and 2 cats. Andi gave us very good recommendations for restaurants, swim and snorkeling spots with coral reefs. We even got a room upgrade. Everything is very clean. Nice breakfast with fruits, yummy pancakes and eggs. It's surrounded by nature and animals.

Great secluded lodge in the jungle Very friendly hosts who gave us lots of great hints for animal watching and the highlights of the region. The nice wooden chalet was very comfortable. The shower was amazing: never had the option of showering cold and warm in the jungle before- awesome! We could hear howler monkeys in the morning and saw tucans and monkeys as well. If you get up early in the morning this spot is almost better for animal spotting than the national parks. The breakfast was also great: some fruit and bread with jelly as well as eggs, coffee and orange juice.
