It doesn't happen often that your already positive expectations are far exceeded. Of course we had read the rave reviews in advance, but with our urban critical eye we naturally wanted to experience it with our own eyes first. Well, it all turned out to be true and even more than that. And that starts with host Thierry, who welcomed us warmly. His hospitality radiates from him, as does his love for the profession. You see that in superlative form at breakfast: grand, diverse, delicious, prepared by Thierry himself, where he treats the guests to new dishes from the immense French kitchen every time. In between he also has time for a personal chat, a laugh, tips for what to do in the area, without ever being pushy. Fantastic! We watched it with silent admiration. On the first day we also met Rosita, the hostess, who is just as hospitable. Villa Magnolia is located on the edge of Wissembourg, a few minutes walk from the center. The villa itself has been beautifully restored, with obvious attention to detail. We stayed in room Aube - the yellow room - where you will want for nothing. The room is spacious, the bathroom modern (including a rain shower), the bed sleeps wonderfully (thick mattresses), it is nice and dark at night, thanks to the automatic shutters. In the room you have coffee and tea making facilities. In the evening you can get a bottle of wine on the ground floor for a more than reasonable price - or some nibbles. We did not let that pass us by. You can also use the communal lounge and the outdoor terrace. And there is a sauna, for those who like to spend their time relaxing away. Not for us, but certainly an added value for many. Finally, no hassle with finding a place for your car, because parking is free on the premises.

We booked the room at the last 30 minutes before check-in. So we doesn't got information about room's key on time. But we called to the owner and he explained everything. If you book the room, will you get the code for keybox and the room's number. The room is not very big but it is ok for one night. The bed was comfortable, the bath room in the room. It was standart breakfast for France hotels. But it was enough: we got coffe , tea or juse, croissants, jams, bread. Service ir yourselv.

    Beautiful house with a large garden. Great location in the centre of Wissembourg at a walking distance from everything, yet calm and peaceful. Comfortable bed, good size bathroom, absolutely spotless. Excellent breakfast with homemade jams and the best croissants in town. Valerie is a very friendly hostess with very good knowledge of the area, and great restaurant recommendations. Perfect for a holiday break. Highly recommended.
