Oh WOW what a fantastic stay we had at the Lodge, from the chocolates and the warmth of the Lodge to the beautiful fragrance when you step through the door. It was cosy, warm, quiet, extremely clean, also the correspondence with Julie was very warm and welcoming. It was everything we thought it would be. Thank you Julie and Alistair for a lovely stay.

The breakfast was delicious and the location was perfect. Thought parking would be an issue as its advertised as no parking (or limited) but the owners had reserved a space directly opposite with no time limits.😉 I know where I'll be staying the next time I visit Clacton.

The room had been done up. A good shower . The fridge was kept stocked with milk, juice yoghurt, cheese, butter and Margarine and a variety of jams. Fresh fruit every day. Paul helped carry my very heavy luggage. They were available and were very helpful. Within close walking range of the beach, pier and high street, as well as the beach path walk. Will definitely stay there again.

    Very peaceful quiet location,when we opened the door there was a lovely fragrance and it was very clean,the room was small but comfortable for two people but not for tall or big persons,the location is good as the shops are 5 minutes drive and Clacton-on-Sea is about 10 minutes,meet the lovely host Julie and her three lovely dogs, dogs are not allowed but she said if you have a small dog she may make an exception you just need to let her know first when you book.

    Cosiness, comfy chairs, chocolate, biscuits and milk on arrival. Hospitality very good. Having a small fridge was such a bonus. Comfortable bed. Privacy. Would definitely come again. We loved it's being quaint and quiet and peaceful. If your staying for 1 or 2 nights it's so so much nicer than a hotel chain.

    The Lodge was so pretty. quiet, private, relaxing after a busy working day. it had everything I needed, comfy bed, shower and could make coffee do I was rested before my next busy workday. I found it so much better than my usual hotel stays.
