It was very clean and plenty if tea and coffee available in the room. Continental breakfast plus English breakfast available, or both. Breakfast was amazing. Evening meals were beautiful. All four of us ate a different meal, all were great. Great bar, very relaxed. Coal fire! Great traditional pub. What's not to like. Chose the pub and location due to convenience and reasonable cost. The reviews were decidedly average, but as a solo traveller I was prepared for the worst. It's a quiet pub in a small vilage. The lad on the bar checked me in, no problem. The pub is quaint and old fashioned however the modest sized room was clean and well appointed.
