Great place to stay in Takachiho. We arrived much later than anticipated due to the roads to Takachiho, but the owner went out of her way so we would be able to check in and get to shower and eat before the doors closed down. The place has multiple restaurants and bars around, and a gas station. Convenience stores are pretty far, so don't count on those unless you are willing to drive for a few minutes.

One of the most beautiful and best places we've been to. The hosts were excellent. They can prepare a BBQ, which is really good (it's a must do). The views are spectacular. The only regret is not having booked more nights.

Our stay was perfect! We decided to enjoy the beauty of Aso a bit longer and booked the house quite late, but everything went great. The host was very kind and communicated with us in English. When we arrived, it felt like visiting parents in a cozy country home — we felt so comfortable. And the breakfast was delicious! Great view at reasonable price. Very kind hosts and well maintained facility. You may find it rather hard to find the right route to reach there if you’re not accustomed to Japanese rural narrow roads, but it’s definitely worth the try.
