It was nice to see management taking the time to train staff.

Beautiful refurbished cottage. Rooms were fantastic. Spacious and bathroom was large. We also had a bath but the other room did not but was still magnificent. Lynne was a great hostess. So friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Very knowledgeable. Her dog Clara was great too and loved a pat. Lovely little village.

The views around Ellerton lodge are breathtaking. The hosts are perfect, they enjoy meeting their guests and are also perfectly happy to leave you alone if that's what you prefer. We were after recommendations and Shirley and Nigel provided! As everyone else says, the breakfast is fantastic. Shirley takes enormous care to take into account any dietary requirements and the fruit spread is gorgeous. Nothing is overdone, which is why we felt at home, and everything is genuine. The bedroom was lovely, clean and comfortable, we spent some time reading with a cup of tea in the bay window while the rain was lashing down, just enjoying ourselves.
