This guesthouse is located along one of the Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage Routes and Yunomine Hot Spring, said to be one of the oldest hot springs baths in Japan, is a 5-minute walk from the property. This was the best value for money stay I had this trip. Highly recommend opting for dinner to be included with your stay. The steamed vegetables and meat with rice and soup was a sumptuous, healthy yet delicious meal especially at the end of a day's big hike. The dorm beds were comfortable, and it was a really nice luxury to get a private onsen experience (especially the outdoor one). Though there was no convenience store around, the hostel has a very good range of snacks, instant noodles, buns at good prices so you don't have to worry about not having food around.

Heisogen Park is 13 km from the guest house and Saki-no-Yu Onsen Spa is 13 km away. Mayumi was an excellent host and very helpful in arranging for my luggage to be shipped. It's clear she is a very experienced host and her soufflé cakes are delicious!

From communications prior to our arrival to meeting our host and the entire stay, we had a wonderful experience! The kitchen is large and fully stocked, they have a washer and dryer, and the rooms were exactly as listed. Our host was courteous and the staff would keep the guest house super clean. They even gave us a bottle of fresh squeezed locally farmed mandarin juice, which was delicious.

NONAGASE GUEST HOUSE, a property with a garden, is situated in Chikatsuyu, 300 metres from Kumanokodo Nakahechi Museum of Art, 29 km from Kamitonda Concert Hall, as well as 31 km from Hosshinmon Oji Shrine. There is an in-house restaurant, plus free private parking and free WiFi are available. Tokei Shrine is 35 km from the guest house and Shirahama Art Museum is 41 km away. The food was the best that I had on my trip, they had Japanese cuisine mixed with Italian techniques, the drinks were also great. The staff was really helpful and friendly. The vibes of the room and the whole house were unique. Plus, if you are doing the Kumano Kodo, Nonagase Guest House is right on the path and so you don't have to take a detour and the nearest shop is like a 10 minute walk.

The host is a very cheerful and helpful lady. She made me feel very welcome and at home. Thank you!

At the guest house, all units have bed linen and towels. Very friendly and helpful host. Run me through all the equipment and helped with my luggage and time issue. Also the room is super clean and equipped with everything you need. Definitely recommend.

200 metres from Kumanokodo Nakahechi Museum of Art, 民宿 和合 Minshuku WAGO is a recently renovated property set in Tanabe and offers air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and private parking. It is located 29 km from Kamitonda Concert Hall and features full-day security. The guest house has parking on-site, a hot tub and a shared kitchen. Very convenient stop along the Kumano-Kodo route. We brought our own food for dinner and the host set up a nice table outside for us. Everything was very clean and the host is really nice.

Situated just 2.9 km from Ojigahama Beach, AJITO Hostel & CafeBar provides accommodation in Shingu with access to free bikes, a bar, as well as full-day security. It is located 500 metres from Shingu Castle Ruins Park and offers private check-in and check-out. The guest house features rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. Very clean and fairly new/well maintained accomodation. I have been to several shared bath accomodations and some have the weirdest setup that don't make sense. This place just does it. Bed is comfy and pillow has just the right height. There's proper hangers in the shower room, bins at the right spots, everything just makes sense so you'll be feeling like staying in a home instead of a hostel. Friendly and very helpful staffs to ease you through your stay and travel around the area.

Set in Shirahama and only 600 metres from Shirarahama Beach, B&B Sampark offers accommodation with sea views, free WiFi and free private parking. It is located 1.2 km from Heisogen Park and features full-day security. The property is non-smoking and is situated 1.1 km from Kishu Museum of Art.

The staff really make this place and enjoyable experience. They are so kind and will go above and beyond to ensure you have a good stay. There is always a level of uncertainty when booking B&B's but as soon as we arrived all those uncertainties disappeared. Lovely Breakfast as well, the staff really care about accommodating you.
