The couple that owns this business made us feel like family. Mao and Qu are so kind and welcoming. They treated us like family. They picked us up from the bus station, drove us to a wonderful dinner location (which they recommended), drove us to the ski resort, and helped with all our luggage. I was so happy to meet them and talk with them. The room is just as warm as the owners. The floors are heated and the beds are very comfortable. I wish I could’ve stayed longer.

It's eye opening and the priest spent time explaining to us the history of Dewa Sanzan and the shrine. I left my bag after checkout to hike up to Mt. Haguro (walking distance to entrance). Then took a bus to Tsuruoka train station.

I thought it was pretty comfortable and the room was quite big. For the price, I think it is really good but it is quite an old house and tough to get to. But I was very grateful to the host, he drove me all the way to the station for no charge as I had lost my wallet and he let me sleep in until whenever I wanted. He was a very lovely man and I hope he gets a lot of business!
