Wow - what a wonderful place for a relaxing stay. The hosts were charming and helpful. The accommodation far exceeded our expectations - spacious and comfortable with quality furnishings and even a separate kitchen and terrace we would love to have used if warmer. The river was only 200m away for relaxing walks, and a 24hr self-serve supermarket completed the rural escape convenience! Truly one of the best stays we have had - we could not rate it highly enough!

I arrived to Sauland on a bicycle trekking tour late after the supermarket and restaurant were aready closed. The property owner was super friendly and prepared me a lovely night snack/dinner tray after hearing about my 180 km ride without break for making it to Sauland before night. I highly recommend this lovely property!

Right at the arrival we had a car issue and they didn’t hesitate to assist us finding a garage and even accompanying me to the garage just before busy dinner time. The next days we had such an enjoyable time in the gjestehus thanks to their hospitality. delicious food was prepared in the evening and dessert was served in their beautiful garden. After dinner they stayed together with several guests in the garden having drinks and nice chats and lot’s of laughs. The Gjestehus is located very conveniently for many outdoor activities. We enjoyed the stay a lot. Tusen takk!

This traditional family-run B&B is in the Telemark village of Dalen, 500 metres from the Telemark Canal. The modern rooms include a private bathroom with shower. Great breakfast, great host, nice house and room. Free car charge is a great plus.

Beautiful location, overlooking a tranquil lake surrounded by mountains. Horses and apple orchard. Morning fog on the lake was lovely. The calls of cranes echoing from the hills. The 1770 stabbur was very roomy and well-equipped with bathroom, kitchen, TV. I loved the history of the place—like a museum. Short drive to Bo or Lunde, Telemark. Torstein and Goril were charming hosts. I plan to return and recommend to my family.
