It’s a family home and they really make you feel like family. The breakfast is so filling and has the best view of Lake Titicaca. It is a little away from the plaza but only about a 15-20 minute walk. Not bad at all. The walks helped me acclimate to the altitude much quicker. However, if you need a ride the host is more than happy to drop you off and pick you up. He even was gracious enough to pick me up from the bus station when I arrived at 4 am. The family is the best. He also helped me book a tour to the floating islands as well as a night stay on Amantani. Honestly, this was one of my favorite stays in Peru so far. Whenever I come back to Puno I will definitely come back to stay here. The room gets a bit cold but they have a little radiator that warms the room right up and the bed is very comfortable with an incredible view to watch the sunrise and set over the lake.

From sharing English phrases for Quechua with Ernesto to drinking local tea, watching the sunsets, to hiking the local trails, I can not recommend enough.

Even though my Spanish wasn't very good, she used Google Translate for effective communication with me. I was supposed to stay only one night, but my stay was extended due to my flight cancellation. After dealing with the stressful situation at the airport, she gave me a warm welcome when I returned to the hotel, which made me feel at home and relieved. Also, the location is great. For instance, there are some markets and a mall within walking distance. It takes about 10 minutes to get to Juliaca airport by taxi and about 15 minutes by colectivo (route B-1).

The inn can conveniently provide information at the reception to help guests to get around the area. The room was comfortable and well decorated, everything was spotless and I slept very well. Vidal and Sonia were the most fantastic hosts. The highlight for me was getting to know them and their home. Vidal helped with mototaxi transfers to the other side of the island and Sonia cooked some glorious meals. They also brought a portable heater in case I got cold. Amazing views. Truly a wonderful place - I would highly recommend.
