Toma and her family are incredible hosts. Clean and comfortable rooms, delicious home cooked meals and spectacular views of the valley! We hiked the full upper trail in one day to stay 2 nights at Tibet GH from where you can also easily reach the bottom of the gorge on the second day. Wonderful 2 days!

The guesthouse is perfectly located in the center of Shangri-La while still being peaceful and quiet :) It’s clean, cozy, and a great place to relax—I had a wonderful stay there! But for me, the best part was July, the owner. She speaks English, is incredibly friendly, and helped me plan my trips around Shangri-La and its surroundings. Don’t hesitate to grab a beer with her by the fireplace—it’s the perfect way to end the day!

Tucked away in the fabled Shangri-La, Courtyard Shangri-la 藏舍小院 is a peaceful setting featuring cosy guestrooms of Tibetan touches.

Mr Lee - the owner of the place had upgraded our booking to another of his property just few doors away from Courtyard Shangri-la. It is a much bigger and newer property - actually everything looked new. Mr Lee had given us a big penthouse with sitting and ensuite downstair and a big area on the upper floor with 2 queen beds, another sitting / TV area, a large writing table, huge bathtub, and another toilet. This room can in fact stay for at least 4 persons comfortably. The property was clean, very comfortable and very quiet. It also feel secure and exclusive. Taxi or Didi can just reach up to the entrance of the property, so it is also very convenient in that sense. Mr Lee has been very kind to offer to pick us up at the train station when we arrived and drop us off when we left with his nice big 4WD. We can also enjoy our coffee at Courtyard Shangri-la in the morning for free. The property is a bit out of the busy area of Dukezong Ancient City but it is better as it is more peaceful with less people. It also has a very nice view to the Big Buddha Temple at Guishan Park in the Ancient Town (from the upper floor) - particularly when the lights are on, fantastic view! Note that this IS NOT about Courtyard Shangri-la but another newer property of the same owner. Thanks to Mr Lee for his hospitality. If I ever return to Shangri-la City, I will certainly contact Mr Lee again.

It was our first time in China and we flew into Shangri-la after a brief stop in Kunming. Vivien kindly picked us up at the airport and drove us to her wonderful homestay in the paradise now known Shangri-la. We had the most wonderful time and have memories that will last us a lifetime. Vivien and her mother are the kindest hosts that you could ever hope for and helped make our stay such a wonderful experience. 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

One of the best places to watch the sunset and sunrise on the trail. Rooms are basic and clean. Very cozy rooftop terrace and bar. The food in the restaurant was tasty. Great vibes and friendly staff.

The bathroom it's awesome!! Shangri-La is super cold place but the hostel toilet bowl is digital with temperature. When u go toilet is comfy. 😁 I went to Lijiang & Dali also without this facilities. Host got offer book car return Lijiang & Shangri-La, price also reasonable. Hostel provide 2 heater., room it's big, breakfast it's delicious. Recommended

The hotel was very clean, much better than I expected, there were many beautiful flowers in the garden, the owners were very kind and invited me to have hot pot with them, it was a very pleasant experience！
