The food was amazing, there was also a vegan and/or vegetarian option. They even came to ask if someone wanted seconds, so perfect for people who need alot of good food. They also have free tee, coffe, hot chocolate and amazing banana bread all day long. The hostel is owned by a family, everyone is involved, very helpful and friendly.

El vaquero had a lovely homely feel which was welcomed after a long day hiking. The place is very clean and warm with beautiful views looking up to quilotoa crater. The hosts were very friendly and attentive. I would recommend this place to anyone hiking the quilotoa loop

The view is amazing, the stuff is auper nice and the food was good. Also they pack lunch for good prize and the common area is heated and really cozy! We would definitely stay again.

Staff were incredibly friendly. Perfect location for the Quilotoa lake, only a short walk away from main view point and starting location for the hike. Bus dropped us right next to the hostel. Dinner and break was filling.

Victor and his family were so kind and welcoming. I arrived to a lovely fire and within a few minutes of arriving had a meal ready for me. Breakfast was a huge meal and prices for the lunch is really good. It was such a nice place with beautiful view, so quiet and peaceful and right next to the start of the quilotoa loop trek.
