The property itself was beautiful with 2 large windows opening out on to the most beautiful square with restaurants , bars and a church. We were there on a Sunday so got to experience and share a family Sunday with the warmest of Spanish people . Probably our favourite stop off experience to date . We have been coming to Spain for years with our dog cali by ferry to Bilbao and stopover somewhere different each time on our trip south to Malaga . We will definitely return to Valdepenas and blanco y Añil

The hostel was easy to find, being right on the main road. With secure private parking at the rear. Bars and takeaways were located only a few minutes' walk. The restaurant was closed when I stayed, but a pleasant buffet breakfast was included in the very reasonable room price.
