Breakfast good a lot of choice but personally I don’t eat much so couldn’t do it justice.

super! close to highway, easy to park on the street in front of the door; 3-course menu - mega delicious and nicely presented; host Matthew very friendly and as another review said, speaks English; for the family suite you get the entire floor for yourself! we come back! Thank you, Matthew.

Everything, very comfortable. The host lit the stove to make sure it was warm for our arrival. Excellent breakfast provided. Our dog was welcomed and enjoyed a run in the field in the morning. A great place.

We appreciated the immediate ‘feel home from home’ hospitality of the hosts Donna and Mark & the surprise breakfast basket with croissants, juice, milk, … and enjoyed very much the comfortable beds in the rooms and the showers in the ensuite bathroom’s.

A charming and engaging host who enjoyed conversations on a number of interesting topics. The rural setting was perfect for a relaxing stay. We also enjoyed a walk from the property to a spot with clear view to enable me to do some night astro photography later in the evening.

My partner and I had a wonderful stay at Gite du Grand Chene recently. Mel and Val were fabulous hosts, they were so welcoming and friendly and they went out of their way to make us feel at home. They were also very helpful giving us lots of information about places of interest to visit, the best local restaurants and local shops. Mel and Val even shared with us some delicious homemade pizza that they had made themselves in their outdoor pizza oven. The gite itself was newly renovated with everything we needed! Inside was immaculately clean, cosy and charming, retaining some of the original features of the building. The bed was really comfortable and the little electric fire and air conditioning kept us lovely and toasty and warm, We were overjoyed when we saw that Mel and Val had left us a little grocery bundle inside consisting of bread, cheese, ham, eggs and coffee, it was such a lovely surprise! We had gorgeous views from our windows across the garden and surrounding fields, we enjoyed watching the cows from our terrace with a cup of coffee in the morning. The highlight of our visit was using the hot tub which was absolutely amazing!!! It was huge inside and lovely and hot with pretty colour changing lights. My partner and I sat inside with a glass of prosecco star gazing looking at the moon and listening to the owls at night. We did have to pay a small additional charge to use the hot tub as it is costly to fill with fresh water and logs which fuel it but it was well worth it. Mel explained that it is free for guests to use if they stay for a week, Another highlight was playing badminton in the garden, we have never had so much fun in our lives!! The gite is situated in such a beautiful tranquil spot and we had such a relaxing, romantic stay. We felt sad to leave as we continued our travels further south but we left feeling so invigorated with our batteries fully charged. The gite is such a lovely little gem! We can't wait to come back!!

Beautiful spot, the house is warm and very well finished. The bedroom was perfect with everything we need. Monique and Albert are exceptional hosts. We spent a lovely evening chatting with them, the breakfast is perfect and they tend to your every need. We will certainly return.
