Stylish victorian building. Incredibly nice and helpful staff. Wonderful big breakfast with homemade bread and jam. Nice warm room with tea/ coffee facilities. Pretty surrendings. We stayed in 4 different places in Scotland and this was definitely the best one.

Darren and Karen are a very friendly couple. The breakfast was good, you have the order the day before to avoid any waste. The room was good, the bed was excellent. The shower was good, and the view during breakfast was great. A view over the lake, birds, a squirrel, mice. Just great.

We stayed in the Islay room. No detail is overlooked! Superb quality sheets, Scottish Co soaps, Babybliss hairdryer, extremely comfortable bed, brand new spacious bathroom with huge fluffy white towels, very quiet home, gorgeous oak bedroom furniture, excellent Scottish breakfast in a beautiful diningroom. Our host booked dinner at the lovely Cuilfail Restaurant when he realized we had not pre-booked our dinner, which is very important in Scotland as restaurants book up, even during the shoulder season. So welcoming and friendly, we highly recommend this accommodation as an exceptional value.

Amazing stay, the room was super cosy, spacious and well thought out. We really enjoyed delicious breakfast and the host is so kind. Ample parking outside. Perfect location on the scenic route between Inveraray and Oban. Would definitely return.

Stayed for a wedding in a nearby town and everything was amazing. Sue and Avril are brilliant hosts, kind and caring and Thistle really feels like a home from home. The view across the loch is so beautiful, rain or shine! The breakfast was unreal - fresh local produce and plenty of it! Such comfy beds, I didn’t want to get up. Great little touches like a flannel just for make up removal - 10/10 would recommend to a friend.
