recently had the pleasure of booking a stay at Aurora Retreats and I must say, it was an absolutely delightful experience. From the moment I arrived until the day I left, everything about my stay exceeded my expectations. First and foremost, the owner of Aurora Retreats was incredibly friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to ensure that I had a comfortable and enjoyable stay. From providing detailed directions to the property to offering helpful suggestions on local restaurants, their warm and welcoming nature made me feel right at home. Speaking of the property itself, it was nothing short of stunning. Nestled in the midst of nature, the retreat offered breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. The serene atmosphere and tranquil surroundings made it the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It truly felt like a hidden gem. One aspect that particularly stood out to me was the impeccable cleanliness and tidiness of the place. The attention to detail was evident in every nook and cranny. The rooms were spotless, the common areas were well-maintained, and the overall ambiance was one of relaxation and serenity. It was clear that the owners take great pride in maintaining their property to the highest standards. During my stay, I had the opportunity to explore the surrounding area, and I was not disappointed. There were plenty of activities to enjoy, from hiking trails to nearby attractions. The owner's recommendations proved to be invaluable, as I was able to make the most of my time in the area and discover hidden gems I would have otherwise missed. Overall, my experience at Aurora Retreats was exceptional, and I can confidently say that I will be coming back in the future. The combination of a friendly and helpful owner, a beautiful and well-maintained property, and the surrounding natural beauty created a memorable and rejuvenating experience.

We're very well received and felt extremely comfortable during our stay. The accommodation is close to the city center, and everything can be done on foot. The place is very comfortable and clean, and Mr. Hector and Mrs. Julie were very attentive. We had an unexpected situation on the way, and they're understanding and willing to help us

The Old Captain Guesthouse is an absolute delight! The place is cozy, impeccably clean, and incredibly welcoming. Our room was spacious, and the bathroom was spotless, making our stay comfortable and relaxing. A huge thank you to Olana, who greeted us with warmth and kindness—her hospitality truly made our visit special. The location is also fantastic, conveniently close to everything in Portree. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

    Vey nice, comfortable place with a great host, Johnny. He makes one feel at home and also prepares an excellent breakfast. The location is peaceful while superb for seeing some of the top attractions of the Isle of Sky over several days without too much driving. We have stayed for 3 nigths and hiked/visited, in our order: the Old Man of Storr, Stein village, Nest Point, Dunvegan Castle & Gardens, Claigan Coral Beach, Quiraing, Fairy Glen, Fairy Pools, and Portree, and various stops on the way.
