Always a great stay at Rautani Sembalun I've stayed at Rautani a few times now (this was my fourth!), and it’s always been a great experience. This time I got to stay in one of the new houses — super clean, comfy, and nicely done. The staff and owner are super friendly and welcoming. They even remembered me from my previous visits, which was such a nice touch. It really feels like a home away from home. Rautani is always my first choice when I’m in Sembalun, and I’d happily recommend it to anyone heading that way.

Let's start with the first of many lovely things about this place: the landscape. One could just sit here for hours and stare at the mountains. The family running the place is just as lovely as the surroundings. They are quite putting and live to chat. The head of the family is the village leader, so there is a lot of knowledge about the region and many contacts for sightseeing or telling up the mountains. The family will cook lovely meals for you. What I also find very important is that this place is Indonesian owned (by the family themselves). It's a bit further away from the western tourist crowd which is also a plus in my book.

Sam the host & his wife were lovely,, Sam is very knowledgeable about the area & Mt Rinjani & is also such a character & speaks great English, lots of laughs, & great company so I stayed extra night, food was also great, Beautiful view from this place & great lil town nearby. Would thoroughly recommend staying here & I'll be back one day soon with my partner to climb Mt Rinjani, thanks for all your knowledgeable info Sam & fun memories, also great that there was no set checkout time,

The best host ever. We were welcomed by the entire family, waiting with coffee and biscuits and even offering the dinner. After they took us to some local celebrations in the village below, really cool :-) Views from the terrace are just amazing. We have got lovely breakfast, and stayed for a couple of hours, even if we had planned to leave early in the morning. Room is really basic indeed, but all above compensates it fully. This is the real HOME stay :-)

Amazing, fabulous place. The drive up took a while, but it is absolutely worth it. The staff were helpful and very nice. The rooms were pleasant and clean. The restaurant on top offers an unbelievable view of the mountains, especially during a tasty breakfast with energizing coffee.

We had the best time with the host and all of his family and friends! They were all very welcoming and took really good care of us during our stay. The food was amazing and the view from the balcony is just stunning. The tours they offer are really interesting and a lot of fun!! A huge thank you to the owner Wika and his cousins Rizky and Bara for making our stay at Dragonfly the best ever!
