We spent just one night in one of the suites, but it’s a place that would be easy to get used to :) Breakfast and proper coffee in the room was amazing, and our host Lara, lovely! The most thoughtful details taking care of everything, from slippers to cotton pads, and a lot of options for ambient lighting. Since the town is on the not-so-touristy side, at least in September, the local rhythm of life dictates restaurants close by 2pm, and then, you can’t get a proper lunch - in the end, it was Scaravelli’s restaurant that came to the rescue, special thanks for that!

We were met by the owner on arrival who offered us a glass of wine before showing us to our room. This was generously sized with a very comfortable bed and a humongous, well-equipped, stylish bathroom. We were only staying for a night (a pity) and had driven all the way from Rome so didn't fancy going into Mantua for dinner. Instead the owner recommended a fantastic pizza restaurant five minutes away that really did the job. The next morning we were served a wonderful breakfast, all freshly prepared and including homemade cake, what could be better?

Palazzo Arrivabene was a dream place to stay. A beautiful palazzo, with a wonderful interior, and very clean and stylish too. Claudio and his mother are immensely charming and their help and breakfasts were wonderful. This hotel only has 6 guest rooms open to the public, the rest are for the exclusive use of the palace owner. The hotel is conveniently located next to the central square, surrounded by famous historical landmarks. The hotel rooms are very spacious and tall, with clean and comfortable beds. The breakfast restaurant is located on the square, serving a typical Italian breakfast with Cappuccino and Corinne. Although it's a bit simple, enjoying an Italian style breakfast in the sunshine is also very pleasant and enjoyable. Butler part-time waiter and boss part-time waiter are both very friendly and hospitable.
