We had the Japanese King Suite with futons. Both, the bed and futons were comfortable. The room was spacious, had a very nice bathroom with separate toilet and the cleanliness was exceptional. Very quiet also. There was a coin operated washing machine and dryer as well that was very handy. The location was nice, authentic Japanese neighbourhood with walking distance to the main shopping street.

Zen Kyoto Hotel and Apartment made our winter here super comfortable. The room is thoughtfully designed with everything you need for both short and longer stays. The kitchen is well equipped. Heating works well. There's a washing machine - there's no dryer but the bathroom has a dehumidifying clothes drying setting that dries your clothes in a few hours. Better than a dryer as it doesn't shrink your sweaters! The staff is lovely. The building is a short easy walk to the train station. Great value for money. We'd definitely stay again.

A great mix of a traditional and modern ryokan. The rooms are spacious, well equipped and traditional, while the amenities are modernised. The futon beds were surprisingly comfortable. The on-site onsen bath is very neat and tattoo friendly. Overall a very nice experience. The staff were very friendly, accomodating and very helpful.

Hosts are amazing welcoming people. Felt at home!. Guesthouse is in a residential area, very quiet and nice, but very close to many touristic places and close to the bus stop that takes to Kyoto Station (line 206). Our room was duplex style: very cute and the bed was extremely comfortable. Free breakfast was also a big plus!! 😋

Amazing hospitality in a wonderful establishment. The staff does everything they can to make the stay unique, memorable, luxurious and comfortable. The public bath is nice and relaxing. The dinner and breakfast is unlike anything I would typically experience as a westerner. Kyoto can be very intense sometimes, and this establishment provided us with an escape when needed.

The beds were comfortable, the bathroom was spacious and the AC top notch - super quiet and you could change all the settings to your liking. Kevin was a great host, always available and ready to help. The location was great - 20 minutes by foot to many major sights and areas of interest. The room was super quiet since the guesthouse is in on a small street next to a canal.

Thank you so much for the nice stay. The room was very spacious and well equipped. The bed was very comfortable. All the space was clean and furnished really well. Hotel is near train station and bus stop. We can honestly recommend Minn Gion and I’m sure we will reserve room the next time in Kyoto.
