Absolutely amazing hotel, very clean and spacious rooms, perfect location (5 mins from ticket office, 15 from polonnaruwa sacred city entrance), friendly stuff and hotel owner. This place deserves more than 5 stars. The location is THE BEST you could ever imagine. Right at the edge of a national park with view onto a lake you see lots of macaques and langurs, birds, mongooses and with a bit of luck elephants roaming around, sometimes they come very close and are just 2 few meters away. No worries there is security fence as you know it from national park areas inbetween. The cabins, very exclusively as there are only 2 available, are perfectly equipped, spotless clean, airtight - so no bugs will bother you as long as you exercise common sense to keep doors closed and come with very good working air-conditioning. You have a nice cozy seating area/porch attached to watch the animals while you are enjoying meals or ice-cold drinks. Bringing your binoculars to view animals further away is recommended. Sanka is THE BEST host you could ever imagine, very warm welcoming and always smiling, and very attentive. He is always available, happy to serve you his delicious food and ice-cold drinks to your room, everything for very reasonable prices. He helps to arrange safaris for you, provides amazing advise on sightseeing, loves to exchange experiences with his guests. He is such a lovely person, himself still very excited about the wildlife, it was hard to leave this place. Ensure to reserve ahead as this place has only 2 cabins and is of course very popular. Thank you, Sanka for the best time we had on Sri Lanka

One the best stay ever. Amazing peaceful place and beautiful family just next the main sites in Polonnaruwa. He suggested us one of the most authentic experience by boat with local friendly guys, if you are lucky you will be alone with elephants and a variety of birds. Definitly raccomended

I only had one night here but I loved this place. I was given a welcome drink, the room was spotlessly clean, the shower was fantastic, the TV worked, and the bed and pillow were the most comfortable I've had in Sri Lanka. Amazing value for money.

a very warm welcome! a great hospitality and kindness. the guesthouse is very well located and quiet. the room is large and well equipped. the Sri Lankan breakfast was delicious. it is possible to rent a bike to visit the archaeological site which is nearby. I had a wonderful two days. THANKS

I stayed with my two daughters. The hospitality was overflowing. At night we made a mistake at the inn and got in late and were cheered up by dinner, and the next day we forgot our tablets and they were delivered to Polonnaruwa. Thank you so much.

    Ruins Villa is conveniently located in the jungle, near historical sites and close to a river. Dream location! Great room and bathroom very nice and very clean, good breakfast and dinner too ! The owner is a quality person who gives the best of himself for his customers. He shares his knowledge of plants, wildlife and takes you to see wild animals around his home. He knows exceptional places to go too !
