One of the few places where you have a whole house to yourself. Therefore very good for long stays. The hosts were very helpful. I don’t think they see a lot of western tourist, which made our stay even nicer.

Gem Fields Rest Hotel has got to be the most convenient hotel for anyone passing through or staying in Rathnapura. At the same time it is far enough away from the hubbub to feel calm, almost rural. Bhanu is a fabulous host who goes out of his way to ensure his guests enjoy their stay. The staff and the host were very friendly and easy going. We appreciates to stay in a local, down-to-earth place, where we could learn a lot about the history of the place and engage with the local community. We chose the place as it offered tours to sapphire mines, and it met oyr expextations!

The staff was exceptional! The location was unreal. Access was a bit struggle but the staff assisted as much as possible. Owners may consider providing a ATV (if possible)

We stayed here for a couple of nights because we wanted to climb the Adam's Peak and well, the Water Side Residence was the perfect choice for us - it's located near the entrance of the hiking trail for the Adam's Peak (like 5-10 minutes walk or less). The hosts were lovely, ready to share tips/suggestions for the hike, as well as ready to answer any questions we might have (not only related to the Adam's Peak). There's a cafeteria upstairs, at the entrance, and you must try the food there - everything was so delicious, from the noodles to the omelets and all the fresh fruit juices! Our room was a wooden cabin a few floors downstairs from the cafeteria. It was so peaceful there! Beds were comfortable, there was hot water for the shower, plenty of power plugs, and there were mosquito nets at the entrance (so we could keep the windows open during night to cool the air in the cabin). Would definitely recommend this place if you plan to climb the Adam's Peak :)

EVERYTHING! Nimal is very kind and is always there if you need something or you just want to talk, the room was very clean, we got a bigger room than what we reserved, location is super good for Adam’s peak (10 minutes walk), food is super good, good accommodation, … It’s the first time I gave a 10 to an accommodation, but it’s definitely worth it!

In a central area of Adams Peak, Pine Trees Homestay features mountain views from the balcony. The property has lake and garden views, and is 6.3 km from Adam's Peak.

The owner - young guy Chathu is a fantastic host experienced in tourism industry, its a homestay where the family stays downstairs and we have the top all for us with 3 large rooms attached bath rooms with hot water and an extra-large open balcony area to chill, work, read overlooking the water tank through the pine forest, chatus families coking ability is expectational!!! ask for the traditional srilankan rice breakfast and you wont regret, and they do fantastic BBQs, ask chathu for the sight seeing he will take you or direct you, one of our team members got down with his own medical condition and the family came to rescue and send off the guy and his bicycle safely to colombo, all in all food & location was fantastic, safe and clean place for both local and international travelers
